Clara Pistner’s video works Mir-oh and Tryin Export navigate the complexities of human existence through poetic visual language. Working across video, text, sound, sculpture, and installation, Pistner explores identity, emotional states, and the contradictions inherent in being. Her films act as open-ended meditations, spaces where the personal becomes universal, and the boundaries of self begin to dissolve.

Mir-oh visualizes inner states through metaphorical imagery, creating a sensory landscape of feeling. It is about being human, not as a fixed condition, but as an ever-shifting experience. Tryin Export brings together years of collected footage, forming a fragmented yet cohesive whole. It is about the simultaneity of identity, the coexisting contradictions of selfhood. Gender, role models, movement, and materiality all intertwine in an exploration of how we define and express ourselves. Performative elements, sculptural forms, and text merge into a layered, ever-changing visual composition.

Pistner’s artistic approach is deeply influenced by both philosophy and psychology. Raised in an interdisciplinary environment shaped by an artist mother and a psychiatrist godmother, her practice is rooted in an ongoing dialogue between the internal and external world.
